TBC Awana Clubs

In 1983 the church started to offer the AWANA youth clubs which minister to over one hundred boys and girls each week. 1984 saw the construction of a $160,000 multi-purpose building with a gymnasium, additional restrooms, and classroom space.  This has greatly added to the service and fellowship opportunities of the church, as well as accommodation for   the full AWANA program to be offered, all the way through Seniors in high school. The program operates from the time the public school fall semester begins and until school adjourns in May. We also continue to offer Youth Meetings on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling youth in the church and community.

As a ministry leader for 60 years, AWANA is making an impact. A recent national survey found AWANA to be as important to our alumni’s spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in our programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!

Each week, more than one million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in AWANA. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S. and more than 9,000 internationally run AWANA programs that change young lives through Biblical truth.
